The Kathmandu District Court on Tuesday remanded notorious gangster Deepak Manange to judicial custody in an abduction case.A bench of Kathmandu District Court Judge Rishikesh Wagle decided to send Manange to judicial custody after reviewing the available evidence that suggested his involvement in masterminding the kidnapping of a Thamel-based businessman, according to District Court Registrar Dhurba Upreti.The District Attorney Office had filed a kidnapping case against Manange and his accomplices although the police had charged him of organized crimes after a thorough questioning conducted over a period of 60 days.“The attorney’s office registered a comparatively weaker and different case against Manange and his accomplices, contrary to the findings of the police investigation,” a senior police official said.
