Dance enthusiasts the duo of Namrata KC and Kripa Bajracharya established an organisation, Asthetic Dance Studio, with the aim of adding a brick to the almost non-existent Nepali dance scape. The studio specialises in Kathak dance, a classical dance form that originated in India; Kathak is a term derived from the Sanskrit Katha, which translates to telling a story. The duo’s goal was to popularise the narration of tales through dance, a task the organisation has taken to heart. “What we strive for is to present an art form that works as a confluence of dance and the fine arts, and one that gives ample room for storytelling and music,” says Namrata KC. Not long after the formation of Aesthetic Dance Studio, the duo ventured into hosting a dance workshop Kathakanksha that ran for a month at the Rastriya Nachghar in the Capital, and featured a total of 20 aspiring dancers and artists. Following that, the duo directed a musical Swan Lake collaborating with actor Najir Hussein.

Aesthetic Dance Studio, still in its infancy, has now come up with another project this time a play, titled Jyanmaya which is currently being staged at the Mandala Theatre in the Capital. The play is a dramatisation of the peerless Sharu-Bhakta’s epic of the same name. Speaking about the conception of the play, KC, who directed the play, said, “Poetry has always fascinated me. We wanted to stage a drama and were mulling over the sources. Then one day, while we were discussing Jyanmaya in a coffee shop, Anup Baral approached us and said that this would be the apt source, which only fueled our excitement. We confirmed that Jyanmaya, which is a long tragic poem in verse about the rustic life in western Nepal, would be the one.” The team then went on to provide a month-long course that also involved rehearsal of the play featuring a dozen artists, dancers and non-dancers, who are featured in the play. Jyanmaya takes off with a series of deftly choreographed sequences which tickles the audience’s fancy and keeps them baited for what lies in store. A unique amalgam of poetry, music and dance, the play tells a simple story with the use of expression and a minimal use of dialogues. Whatever dialogue it uses, it derives from the epic poem itself.

accident. The animal was hit by a train and it was badly injured. The
elephant was on its own way and was trying to cross the road when a
train came and hit him. The train was in a very high speed and it didn’t
notice the giant elephant coming towards it. Unfortunately the animal
was badly hurt and was lying on the side of the track.

The roads were then closed in order to rescue the injured animal. It was
so badly hurt that it could not stand back and walk. The animal was
expecting for a help and people were also trying their best to help the
animal. Later on the animal was finally rescued and was take to the
nearest hospital. It was treated there and was given medicine to relieve
the pain. It was a much unexpected accident and the poor animal was
seriously hurt.




The enormous animal was so badly hurt and it could not help itself and
was hoping for the help. Normally they are animal and they don’t have
sense. They can’t discriminate between good and bad and right or wrong.
They just do whatever they feel like.
These are very deadly animals and whenever they feel mad they just lose
their control and they are in terrific form. Nothing in the world can
control them and they will just do whatever they feel like doing. They
are in their own kind and they are especially destructive. But sometime

He received his first National Award for Dasdhunga for best supporting actor. He then played the role of a doctor in Aacharya (2010), directed by Prashant Rasaily. He then acted in Mero Love Story in 2010. In 2012, Dayahang acted in the hit Nepali film Loot. Dayahang also co-wrote the dialogues of this film. His character Gofle earned him good appreciation from critics and audiences. He won the TV Filmy Popular Award for Loot. Dayahang won his second National Award for the film Sambodhan (2014) in the best actor category. The critically acclaimed Talakjung vs Tulke (2014) showcased Dayahang’s versatility as an actor. His two films Kabaddi (2013) and its sequel Kabaddi Kabaddi (2015) became huge hits in Nepal and abroad. He received his third National Award for best actor for Kabaddi Kabaddi.

Baitadi District historical name “Bairath” , a part of Province No. 7, is one of the seventy-five districts of Nepal. Deepashree Niraula’s debut feature, Chhakka Panja, defied the odds on a wet and rainy weekend to become one of the highest grossing Nepali movies of the year. Having joined the illustrious Rs 1 crore club on Saturday, the movie has ended up grossing north of Rs 25,000,000 over the weekend. The movie hit the screens on Sept 9.

“The response that we have received for the movie has been quite overwhelming,” Niraula said in a conversation with the Post, “Around the country, the people are saying that the ‘rains couldn’t dampen Chhakka Panja’. We knew that the movie would do well, but the phenomenal response we have received has the cast and crew positively over the moon.”

The film features a 60-person ensemble cast with popular names like Deepak Raj Giri, Shivahari Poudel, Jeetu Nepal, Kedar Ghimire, Buddhi Tamang, and Priyanka Karki in lead roles. The movie which recants a tale of migrant Nepali workers has struck a chord with audiences in both multiplexes in urban centres and single screen halls and remained sold-out all weekend. The movie was released in over 80 movie theatres around the country.
